Where Technology and Teamwork come together...Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect/Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. The applicant will be part of the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) program. We support mission-critical systems to meet important new regulatory requirements. This position will be located at a client site in Washington, DC. The site is near Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom and Georgetown.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage a data architect task order on large contract vehicle
- Plan/Execute data analysis, system development, prototyping and deployment utilizing project management best practices and customer's Project Management Lifecycle
- Create and execute project plan; plan and track cost, schedule and technical quality performance requirements; provide weekly status reports to customer and to contract Program Manager; and ensure task is completed on schedule
and within budget
- Conduct Technical Solutions Assessments and Trade-off Analysis
- Develop Solution Architecture
- Develop Follow-on Services using Windows Messaging Service (to integrate with/expand on existing applications)
- Develop Application Prototype(s)
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet
the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related degree and
10 years of relevant experience (years of experience may be
used in lieu of degree)
- Knowledge of current customer development
environment: ASP.NET, C#, Team Foundation Server
(TFS), SQL Server 2008, SharePoint 2010, SSRS, SSIS,
Web Services, SOA Methodologies
- Hands-on experience as a senior architect on large
systems
- Demonstrated success with completing and
communication results from alternatives analysis, trade-off
analysis, etc., especially focused on large data systems
- Experience in considering alternatives to Open Source
columnar database solutions (e.g. Hadoop/HBASE),
parallelized hardware (e.g., Greenplum, Netezza, MS
Parallel Data Warehouse appliance) and third party analysis
products (e.g., Nasdaaq SMARTS)
- Excellent oral and writing skills
- Must be able to obtain Position of Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential
consideration:
- Current position of public trust (or higher level clearance)
- Hands-on experience with current customer development
environment
- Java development
- Data Analytics experience such as: Data Analytics
Development (Enterprise Analytics and Divisional Analytics);
Analytic Tools Expertise and Assistance; and SAS
Administration, Operations and Maintenance in a data
analysis environment consisting of SSMS, SSRS, SAS,
JMP, MATLAB, Revolution Analytics "R", SAS EBI, Stata
and SSAS.
