Description

Northrop Grumman Technical Services sector is seeking an experienced, senior level, J2EE Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's team supporting Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). Candidates for this position are expected to be experts in design and development of large and complex J2EE systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Determine and implement appropriate software architecture and technical solutions with minimum supervision
-Lead design, implementation, and testing of J2EE software and Web applications
-Perform as hands on developer and a technical lead
-Lead and mentor junior developers
-Assist the development team in requirement gathering and requirement validation
-Author and present technical design documents


Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: --9 Years of relevant experience with a BS; 7 Years with an MS; 4 Years with PhD
-Educational background in Computer Science or a related discipline
-Expert in J2EE architecture frameworks and J2EE N-tier software development
-Expert in developing Web applications and Web services (SOAP and REST)
-Advanced skillset in Java5 and above, Spring, JSF, EJBs, ORMs (Hibernate, MyBatis), UML
-Experience with Oracle 10G or higher
-Familiarity with Oracle databases and relational models
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines and responsibilities
-Must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain a "Position of Public Trust" designation



Preferred Qualifications: --Familiarity with government environments and standards
--Working knowledge of SCRUM/Agile development methodologies
--Facilitate meetings with Software Development teams, including Architects, DBS, Systems Engineers, and Software Developers.
--Experience with enterprise database management systems and understanding of both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP)
--Experience with technical risk management, (identify information assets and/or risk areas, quantify, qualify threats, assess vulnerabilities, mitigate risks to close gaps and establish controls, re-assess and manage ongoing risks.
--Strong knowledge in TOGAF and DODAF
--DoD Secret Security clearance.
--Sun or Oracle Certified Java Developers highly desirable
--Expertise in Spring Framework, JSF, and RichFaces highly desirable
--Advanced PL/SQL and DBA skills
--Group facilitation and presentation experience is a plus
--Master's degree in Computer Science (or similar disciplines)
