Candidate will have an understanding of SPACE level parts engineering and parts application; provide technical support as needed in the selection, test, qualification, application, and failure analysis/resolution of devices. Candidate will also create and review procurement specifications and generate NSPARS as required. This position requires extensive interface with different Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement functions. An understanding of DOD and NASA SPACE part requirements and radiation hardness issues, manufacturing techniques is preferred. Also requires familiarity with EEE Parts selection, screening, qualification and derating requirements for SPACE programs. Knowledge of military specs such as MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-1580, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-38535, EEE-INST-002, etc. is desired. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs. Responsible for defining, optimizing and maintaining the electrical component part database to minimize total product life cycle cost, improve product performance and reduce operating expenses. Evaluate and provide component selection guidance to design engineers. Manage GIDEP Issues, Parts Obsolescence, Sources of Supply, as it applies to Space Qualified EEE and Mechanical Components. The position is contingent upon contract award.
Qualifications
BSEE or equivalent Aerospace/Electrical Engineering degree with 9 years of experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with an understanding of DOD and NASA SPACE part requirements , radiation hardness issues, and manufacturing techniques
