Where Technology and Teamwork come together... Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a Chief Engineer with proven, well-developed technical to provide technology leadership for tactical missile programs . This position is to be located at the Huntsville, Alabama.
Role and Responsibilities:
At Northrop Grumman Information Systems, the Chief engineer is the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company.
In short, the Chief Engineer is responsible for:
-Overall program technical performance
-Lead technical representative for the program to the customer
-Reduction of high level system specifications to the subsystem specifications
-Program technical leadership in both tactical missiles and weapon systems development
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-BS in Software, Aeronautical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or in Math or Physics with 9+ years experience
-Must have a minimum of a Department of Defense Secret clearance
-IPT Leadership experience
-Tactical missile design and development experience
-Experience in system architecture development
-Experience in requirements analysis and flow down, and generation of specifications and interface control documents (ICDs). Ability to provide direction and expertise to identify and allocate the requirements, specifications, and ICDs.
-Customer interface experience
Preferred Qualifications:
-MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related fields preferred
-Experience leading DOD contractor level missile development programs through design, development, production, and support
-Demonstrated experience of successfully integrating tactical missiles into weapon systems
-Detailed understanding of all elements required to meet lethality/performance requirements of a tactical missile weapon system
