Join the Northrop Grumman Information Systems team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking experienced Technical Editor and Writer Support to join the Department of Defense Business Area, Critical Infrastructure and Force Protection Operating Unit in Huntsville, AL.
The Technical Editor and Writer writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials. Technical Editor and Writer also support the development of proposals in support of new business opportunities. Ensures that formatting and established writing standards are met in development of the final product.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND six (6) years or Master's Degree AND four (4) years experience.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- 4+ years experience with developing training material using Systems Approach to Training process.
- 4+ years experience in working with military technical documents related to train development, training delivery, and integrated logistics support (ARs, Mil Specifications and Preferences, Technical Bulletins, IETMs, DIDs, etc).
- Advanced Skills of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint is required.
- Basic skill with Adobe products.
- Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
- Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations
.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Support of a joint military environment.
- Experience as military training developer, and/or instructor writer.
