Description
Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Qualifications

This position requires a TS/SCI w/polygraph.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years engineering experience

- A minimum of 2 years experience in one of the following,..

     - Signals Analysis (Bell, CEPT, SDH/PDH)

     - Telecom Systems and Networks(ATM, SONET,SDH, PDH)

     - Telephony Switching System

     - Internet Communications Systems

     - Cellular Communications (2G/3G/4G networks)

     - TDM/PCM Modulation

     - Packet Switching Systems

     - Operating Systems(Linux, Solaris)

     - Advanced Protocols(OTN, ASON, SIP, MPLS)

     - Systems Engineering

Preferred Qualifications: 
- System development, upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting, and deployment to site
- User training
- Linux OS
- C++
- Java
- Shell scripting
- Web interface development
