Senior HP Network Monitoring Tools Engineer to administer, configure and operate the network monitoring tools to support the MDA Network on the JRDC contract at Schriever AFB, CO. Primary tools currently used are the HP Business Technology Optimization (BTO) suite.
Will perform HP Openview production operations and maintenance, build, test and release associated with managing and reporting of networks, systems and services utilizing Business Availability Center (BAC), Universal Configuration Management Database (uCMDB), Discovery and Dependency Mapping (DDM), Business Process Monitor (BPM), Sitescope, Operations Manager for Windows (OMW), Network Node Manager (NNM), Internet Services and Performance Insight. Will deploy and maintain discovery jobs; troubleshooting access or scripting errors as needed. Responsible for creating and deploying VuGen scripts for synthetic user transactions, setup Sitescope monitors and configure associate TQL service views in BAC. Will install and troubleshoot Operations Agents (OVO) on Windows and UNIX servers. Will create, edit, deploy and troubleshoot Operations policies. Responsible for configuring and troubleshooting network discovery, polling and alarming mechanisms. Will also configure extended topology database and container views. Responsible for installing and configuring the iSPI for Performance Insight and MIBs. Will develop, deploy and troubleshoot report pack and custom OVPI reports. Will install, configure and troubleshoot service targets and service objectives and remote probes. Will create, deploy and troubleshoot HTTP transaction service targets.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
A Master's degree in an IT related field or equivalent and at least 10 total years experience. Development experience with HP Open View applications and modules including OMW, uCMDB and DDM. The successful candidate will provide design input, operational support, user support and planning function to this critical application for stability, optimal performance and integration with other tools. Team skills are a must. Must be able to establish, maintain and follow documented processes and procedures. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Security+ certification required or the ability to obtain such certification within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the MDA and BMDS programs. Experience in operating, maintaining and integrating Operations Manager with Network Node Manager, Performance Insight, Internet Services and other HP software tools. Experience working in an enterprise environment.
