Description

Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Air & Missile Defense Systems (A&MDS) serves as Northrop Grumman Information Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

 

The Systems Administrator 2 position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

This position is contingent upon customer approval.

 

Position Description:

 

  • This position will be part of a CDIN O&M team who will perform 24x7 site operations and maintenance on Temporary Duty (TDY) consisting of approximately a 90 days in 7 to 14 days out rotational status at a TBD foreign location.
  • Successful candidates will have an operations and maintenance and or system administration (Windows, Unix, Cisco, etc) background, be a self-starter, have demonstrated interpersonal communications skills, be able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multi-task, have experience with fielding to international locations, and have experience with installation and set up of remote operating locations.
  • Position will require expertise with the performance of troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance on HW and SW components.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications - To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, EE, Math, Physics or related discipline with 3 or more years of related experience, or 7 years of directly related years of experience with no Bachelor's degree.
  • Active Secret Security clearance required.
  • Candidate must possess DODI 8570 Level 2 certification (Security +, etc).
  • Command and Control experience to include system architecture and network engineering.
  • Experience problem solving and troubleshooting complex, distributed DoD systems.
  • Required knowledge and experience includes: fundamentals of network systems, systems administration, system engineering, software development and contractor logistics life cycles.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX Solaris and Windows operating systems from a system administration vantage point.

Preferred Qualifications - Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

 

  • Software engineering experience and well as knowledge of 24x7 operations and support processes at Regional and Combatant Command Centers (STRATCOM, PACOM, NORTHCOM, EUCOM, etc.) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense and/or military systems is a plus.
  • JADE equipment knowledge is a plus.
