Description:
A reorganization was recently announced in the L48 splitting the current Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU) into two business units (MCBU and Rockies BU) to be based in Houston, TX. This creates a new HR Director opportunity to staff. The HR Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and consultative support to the associated Business Unit leadership team; driving implementation of business staffing plans; performing complex and non-routine HRBP functions; developing creative solutions to various problems and advising the business accordingly; acting as a thinking partner/coach for business leadership on various HR issues & processes impacting the strategic and long range business plans. The position also oversees all training in the Business Unit.
Responsibilities may include:
* Ensuring BU HR processes are consistent and linked with Lower 48 HR processes while maintaining client relationships through understanding their strategies and business operations
* Integrating succession planning/talent management processes in BU to identify high potential employees, bench strength for positions and gaps
* Participating on business and L48 HR leadership teams
* Identifying leadership and development opportunities for the business
* Supporting the BU in developing (along with the Talent Management Team) workforce and strategic staffing plans and processes to enable the goals of the business
* Consulting with and supporting BU on HR issues regarding staffing, compensation, performance management, employee relations/complaints, talent and succession management
* Supervising 1 HRBP, 1 HR Assistant and a Training Supervisor
* Consulting with the COEs on the particular needs of the BU and on implementing policies/programs and providing feedback on issues impacting the business (e.g. compensation, staffing, employee relations, expatriate, talent management)
* Leading special projects related to delivering the strategic needs of the business
* Managing an effective training framework that meets the technical, safety and soft skills training for all employees in the BU
Qualifications:

Basic/Required:
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
* Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources or Business related field
* 7 years direct Human Resources experience
* 3 years direct experience as a Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner
Preferred:
* Master''s Degree
* 10 years direct Human Resources experience
* Leadership skills
* Results oriented, both individually and for a team; Demonstrated ability to deliver key results on stretch goals
* Able to evaluate short and long range needs of business
* Customer focus - relates well with employees at all levels
* Outstanding networking & collaboration skills, both internal and external; able to influence without authority
* Broad HR technical expertise with PHR or SPHR or other certifications
* Strategic thinker / thinking partner.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to identify and leverage opportunities
* Experience as a coach and mentor, both inside and outside the function
