Role:
The Learning Media Designer works with the Learning & Development (L&D) Manager and L&D Consultant on the design (storyboard, script, content, etc.) of learning activities then turns that design into digital media and printed assets that support learning activities (e.g., video, graphics, animations, Computer Based Training Modules (CBTs), websites). The Learning Media Designer also works closely with T2 and other infrastructure partners to ensure that designed and developed media is deployable in the TD Ameritrade environment and appropriately leverages all existing features and capabilities. The Learning Media Designer works closely with other team members, particularly Senior Facilitators and L&D Specialists to ensure that the digital and print products they develop are implemented effectively and according to design. The Learning Media Designer is expected to remain at the forefront of rapidly changing elearning, social, and other online technologies to ensure that L&D provides highly engaging and effective associate learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Transform learning activity designs (represented in storyboards, scripts, etc.) into digital media and printed assets
- Partner with L&D team members to ensure learning activity designs are feasible and take advantage of ever-changing technological capabilities & features
- Ensure that designed digital media and print collateral is implemented appropriately and effectively
- Stay current with rapidly changing elearning, social, and online technology environment
Requirements:
- 4 year college degree in Instructional Design, Communication, Graphic Design, Media Production, Computer Science, or related field required
- 1-3 years of work related experience
- 1-3 years experience designing and developing learning media, including video, animation, graphics, simulations, CBTs and live instruction support materials
- Demonstrated expertise or potential for such in elearning design, media selection, and digital publishing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver), Adobe Captivate, and Adobe AfterEffects and other elearning applications as appropriate
- Mastery of Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with video production, including video recording, lighting, audio, and editing
- Familiar with modern design principals and importance of corporate branding standards
- Proficiency with web publishing technologies and platforms, including learning management systems
- Proficient and effective business writing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Series 7, 63 (or 66) required within 6 months
