Key Responsibilities
- Assists Audit Committee in discharge of its fiduciary responsibilities by functionally reporting to AC, providing quarterly updates on plan status and results of audits, and providing insight on control environment and trends.
- Works with and communicates with senior management in the identification and performance of the required: audits, consultations, and special projects.
- Leads internal audits, reviews, and evaluations of all operational and financial Company functions.
- Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with business partners at all levels to identify and respond to emerging risk issues on a timely basis.
- Functions as risk management expert and recommends controls and operational improvements to mitigate risk and improve operational functions, where appropriate.
- Provides oversight to the forensic investigation function and assures fraud risks are considered in all projects.
- Coordinates with other governance functions including SOX, Ethics, Security, and public accountants.
- Recruit, retain, and develop key staff.
- Identify, develop, and promote best practices in Internal Auditing and specify and monitor the application of operating and reporting standards to assure effective and efficient processes for the function.
- Lead and direct Internal Auditors in carrying out audit work related to the groupâs key risks and provide professional guidance to them in fulfilling their audit responsibilities.
- Identify and co-ordinate staff training and development requirements to meet immediate job needs and in the context of Internal Audit as training ground for managerial career development.
- Implement follow-up process to assure timely implementation of agreed management actions.
- Develop goals and performance criteria and monitor performance with regular feedback and review.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor completion of multiple tasks performed by the dept in support of business goals.
- Assure appropriate use of audit software including data analytics tools.
Education / Experience
- Bachelorâs degree, preferably in accounting, business or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years management or supervisory experience.
- A minimum of 8 years internal audit experience (could be supplemented with external audit or other accounting experience), preferably in a beverage/manufacturing environment.
- A current Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or equivalent certification.
- Thorough knowledge of audit procedures, including risk-based planning techniques and methods used to examine, verify and analyze business and financial operations, information, records, statements and reports.
- Full understanding and applied experience of the requirements of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Ability to direct the effectiveuse of audit tools (Visio, ACL, SAP) and Excel and Word.
- Full understanding of the principles and application of good corporate governance.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and to focus on change activities/processes to enhance the business partnerâs ability to achieve the Companyâs objective.
- Demonstrated capability to apply technical knowledge to strategic business issues and to strengthen the probability of success of the strategic business issues.
