  • Role Summary: The Mission Health Policy Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the development, revision, and dissemination of all policy and procedures, in collaboration with the Mission Health Policy Oversight Committee. The manager uses the most recent and applicable Standards of Clinical Practice, Standards for Administrative practice, The Joint Commission Standards, CMS, Mission’s care delivery models, and other related professional practice standards and guidelines to provide guidance and direction to the policy management team. Goals include region wide simplification and standardization of policies and procedures to promote uniform and high level care that supports the "Bigger Aim."

    Required Education: BSN and MSN Required

     

    Preferred Education: Quality Improvement and Project Management Skills.

    Required License Current licensure as Registered Nurse with North Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state as defined by NC Board of Nursing

    Preferred License: Certification in clinical, leadership, or quality specialty preferred

    Required Experience: 10 years experience in multiple areas of nursing practice. High-level computer skills in managing online databases, Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and, Visio.

    Preferred Experience: Experience in leadership, education, and clinical policy and procedure development
