This executive management position oversees all mental health and substance abuse services provided to the community, 210 county positions and approximately $20 million in contract agencies. This position oversees a budget of approximately $52 million and administers the managed care MediCal program for individuals with mental health needs. The position reports to the Health Services Agency Director and works extensively with key stakeholders in mental health and substance abuse on community planning and service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, energetic and an innovative leader with good communication and people skills. An understanding of mental health administration, finance and mental health best practice models is preferred. The Director of Mental Health Services will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as the County Health Services Agency continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity to prepare for Federal Health Care Reform activities as well as the State Realignment programs. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact Agency.
