Cisco is seeking a Sales Business Development Manager who has a consistent track record of overachievement selling in demanding environments and experience selling within the State and Local community. As a Sales Business Development Manager (SBDM), you will present logical and well-organized arguments, data, and concrete business examples; clearly explains relevant facts; deftly distinguishes own offerings from competitors'; present a well-prepared, convincing case.

The SBDM will develop and manage a territory sales strategy which will meet or exceed bookings targets.

Selling skills required for this position are:
- Sales background in Telephony Experience: both IP/TDM;
- Managed Enterprise Software Contracts
- Security sales knowledge
- Proven ability to craft collaboration solutions and articulate business benefits of those solutions
- Successful completion of a recognized formal sales training program(s)
- 5-7 years experienced with Strategic Account Planning and Consultative Selling
- demons ability to understand and interact with senior level management CXO levels

Strong ability to collaborate with finance, field sales, channels, business unit, customer advocacy and marketing personnel is required. Collaboratively works with extended team to identify and close opportunities. Works with sales management to identify specific behaviors, knowledge, and skill areas for focus and evaluation of general sales team.

Assuming a consultative sales role, assessing the customer needs, developing a solution alone or with partners, offering pricing assistance, and involve Cisco services to ensure a successful implementation of Collaboration solutions are part of the responsibilities.

Develop and Drive strategic sales activity and thought leadership around Collaboration solutions through cross-functional marketing, channels, product management and other advanced technologies.

Objectives and Responsibilities:
* Increase rapid acceptance of Cisco Advanced Technology in the geography through:
1) develop a thorough understanding of the Security Technology portfolio;
2) defining and articulating a technology-specific strategy and solution by customer or vertical
3) partnering with other Sales Specialist teams to align horizontal solutions with key accounts
4) assume a leadership role utilizing field experiences in developing next generation solutions both alone and with partners such as EMC, VMware, Oracle and others

Other expectations include:
1) developing a thorough understanding of customer requirements;
2) assisting account teams in effectively packaging, pricing, and presenting solution to customer, including ROI and value proposition.
3) assist in developing and presenting RFI/P responses
4) take an active role in exploring partnership solutions

Requires BS/BA or equivalent
Ability to travel 50%
