Cisco seeks a talented and innovative Systems Engineering Manager (SEM III) with proven experience building successful, highly motivated Consulting Systems Engineering (CSE) teams. This role involves positioning and promoting the Borderless Networks Architectures (including routing, switching, mobility and security) product portfolio to the field sales teams, partners, and customers. In addition, the SEM plans the technical direction for the team, identifying expertise to grow the team as needed, and facilitating key partnerships between internal cross-functional teams, partner, and customer organizations. This is an ideal position for someone who has proven leadership skills and related industry and technical expertise to advance their career in a highly regarded leadership role. Additional responsibilities include, recruit, hire and retain the best people, as well as coaching and developing staff, providing performance management, development planning, salary planning, technical training, and mentor for CSEâ s. The SEM will work closely with their Regional Sales Manager business partner to drive operational excellence on their Borderless Networks team, anticipate changes in industry trends, and demonstrate both technical and business excellence in order to meet revenue goals. - Demonstrates skilled leadership throughout the operation and area.
- Understands Routing, Switching, Mobility, and Security technologies and how they relate to business solutions, and is able to clearly communicate Cisco's strategic vision.
- Has the respect of their CSEs, SEMs, SSEMs, SEDs, RSMs, and the extended team including Business Units, Channel Partners, etc.
- Considered a knowledgeable and trusted advisor throughout the Cisco organization, and with senior level management at our Partners and Customers.
- 10+ years related experience in the network technology industry and 5+ years management experience (or demonstrated leadership of technical teams within Cisco). Cisco experience highly desired. Pre-Sales experience required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
- Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
- Excellent communication skills to assist at the Customer Management Interface level, including negotiation, and presentation skills.
