Provides accurate and timely administration of benefits for TPMG physicians in accordance with ERISA and IRS requirements and TPMG policies. Provides professional and courteous service and assures that problems are resolved in a timely manner. Conducts research when appropriate and acts as a resource to TPMG Facility Coordinators.
Essential Functions:
- Applies broad human resources and benefits knowledge, judgment and initiative.
- Interprets and applies TPMG benefits policies and procedures and TPMG retirement plan policies.
- Utilizes and updates Compensation and Benefits System and WyPen Pension system.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality.
- Administers various benefit plans and/or retirement plans for physicians.
- This includes interpreting policies, contracts, law and regulations; determining eligibility; enrolling physicians and dependents in appropriate plans; and following through with any necessary paperwork.
- Works as a team with others in the department to successfully administer plans and with facility benefits coordinators to provide benefit eligibility information to physicians.
- Provides training regarding changes.
- Conducts case management when required to meet customer needs.
- Prevents escalation of complex customer service problems by utilizing expert benefits knowledge and customer service skills.
- Communicates with other work groups in the broader organization to resolve issues and coordinate response to the physician in question.
- Refers more complex issues to Benefits Specialist or Supervisor.
- Acts as a resource to TPMG Facility Coordinators.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience in benefits administration, typically three (3) - five (5) years of progressive responsibilities.
- Previous experience in administration of defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans and other employee benefits.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- General knowledge of employee benefit plan documents, contracts, procedures, laws and regulations.
- General knowledge of defined benefit and qualified post-retirement health and welfare plans.
- Knowledge of defined contribution retirement plans sufficient to enable counseling.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and listening skills essential.
- Ability to navigate PC and mainframe based data entry systems.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
