Position Description: As part of the Ryder team, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of policies and programs covering several or all of the following: recruiting, benefits, training, diversity, employee and labor relations, and wage and salary administration


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of at least 2 (two) years Human Resources related experience or Master’s Degree and a minimum of 1 (one) year of Human Resources related experience
  • Additional Requirements: Ryder is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day administration of human resources policies and programs in a distribution facility, located in Hebron, KY. This facility typically operates 24 hours/day, 5 days/week.

    The selected candidate will have responsibility for recruiting/staffing, managing the relationship with our temporary staffing agency, supervisor and hourly employee onboarding/orientation, general HR training needs, and employee relations. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for investigating sensitive employee-related matters and recommending resolutions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines. Prior experience working in HR in a lead or supervisory position is desirable.
    Successful candidates will have the following:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or Labor Relations
    • A minimum of 2 (two) years experience at a generalist level
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Previous experience with investigations and addressing complex employee relations issues
    • Previous experience presenting to groups and training supervisory staff
    • Must have the ability to effectively interact with employees from senior management to hourly warehouse employees
    • Proficiency with MS-Office including Excel

    Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of functions for multifunction teams, as part of a high-performance HR work team
  • Interprets policies and makes recommendations on routine HR matters
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and corporate guidelines
  • May provide guidance on a variety of employee relations issues, grievance responses and other areas affecting the business
