Position Description: The IT Specialist - Windows System Administrator has general overall knowledge in areas such as server administration, server hardware, web technologies, application processing, and middleware technology.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 (five) years of work experience in setup and administration with Windows Active Directory and Windows Server 2003.
- Position requires 7x24 rotational on-call schedule and requires the incumbent to carry a pager.
- Must have the ability to travel up to 10%.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience managing DHCP and DNS.
- Experience managing MS Exchange in an enterprise environment.
- Experience working with any number of Cloud-based solutions.
- Experience managing File and Print services, including SAN-based solutions.
- Experience providing support for server-based applications managed by other teams.
- Experience in implementing Changes within a formal Change Management structure.
- ITIL knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience with older generations of Windows Server operating systems (NT 4.0, 2000) preferred.
- Experience with database technologies, particularly MS SQL.
- Experience with Microsoft scripting and other technologies such as Powershell.
Responsibilities:
- Server administration and Active Directory support.
- Server hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Server build and configuration.
- Server patching and updating.
- Assist with installation and troubleshooting of all server-based software.
- User, group and policy creation.
- 2nd tier support for all escalated deskside and help desk issues.
- Help suggest and implement new solutions and technologies that improve the Windows environment.
- Assist with server backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Documentation of all work performed.
