Salary - £27,300pa - £34,100pa depending on experience plus excellent benefits

 

 







Background & Main Job Purpose:
One of the largest global FMCG companies presents a fantastic opportunity to become part of the Beverages category team which includes the brands PG Tips and Slim-Fast. The position requires a highly motivated and skilled candidate to become a Finance business partner to the category team.

Your role will be as dynamic as the category - in terms of growth and development but also expertise. You will actively seek to drive actionable insights, and there will be fantastic opportunities to develop your technical financial and business partnering skills.

You will be responsible for supporting a talented and diverse team to deliver a challenging growth ambition over the next couple of years. This will include developing business cases for new products on all brands, analysing and recommending more efficient use of investment, and challenging cross functional teams to deliver profitable growth for Unilever's shareholders.

Key Accountabilities:
- Undertaking monthly results analysis to understand business performance by category / brand including share trends and trackers
- Use standard tools to evaluate Advertising &Promotion effectiveness
- Tracking key cost movements for the category
- Support BB (Brand Building) Finance manager in driving OPSO (Optimising Promotional Sell Out) learning's and suggesting promotional guideline changes
- Support BB Finance manager in the evaluation of NPD (New Product Development), major activation proposals and pricing
- Process support to key milestones (Planning/Brand Audit/Brand Market Planning/National Category Building Plans). Consolidation of inputs and submission to National Finance Office.
- Review Management Information reports and highlight any numbers which might require action.

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:
To succeed in this role you will need to be objective, communicate professionally and clearly, and use your influencing skills to make sure you fulfil your responsibility as the conscience of the business. You will work alongside colleagues in the CD sales team on short term trends, Supply Chain on Forecasting and the Brand Development team on new products and longer term category strategy. Other requirements:
- Analytical (Excel skills including the use of pivot tables etc) with ability to translate complicated financial trends and information to a wide audience in an effective and jargon free manner
- Knowledge of general accounting and systems (SAP / BEX / Proclarity
- Studying towards a Professional Accounting Qualification
- Must have a business/analytical degree or equivalent industry experience
- Identify trends/patterns
- Category/market understanding (desirable)
- Some presentation skills (desirable) Candidates should also be ambitious, inquisitive and confident.
