Sr. Brand Development Manager - Male Cleansing/Grooming
Job Summary:
Men Care is a strong part of our North American Personal Care portfolio. We are looking for a strong candidate to fill either one of two Senior Manager positions. The Male Cleansing position is part of the Skin Cleansing category and reports into the Skin Cleansing Director Dove / Axe. The Male Grooming position is part of the Skin Care organization and reports directly into the Skin Care VP. These roles have high visibility both regionally as well as globally. In the cleansing role, we have established with Dove Men + Care and Axe a leading position in Cleansing. Confirming our strong leadership and the strength of both brands in this segment is a critical business priority. In Male grooming, significant ambition is in place to grow the male grooming market and establish a strong market share with our two brands.
Deliver significant growth through:
- Clear understanding of the male opportunity
- Development of sharp market development plans
- Deployment of innovation and communication program
- Tight competitive monitoring leading to tight competitive responses
Roles offer plenty of scope for independent brand and team stewardship, strategic leadership and creativity. A seasoned leader, innovator and brand developer is needed to be the champion for our male agenda in each category.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Understand the male consumer in general, our DoveM+C and Axe targets in specific and the North American cleansing or male grooming market place.
2. Champion with the respective Global brand teams the development of the appropriate innovation and communication plans for the region
3. Work in close collaboration with Canadian and US BB teams to drive to optimal deployment of the mixes in the market place, analyse success and competitive reactions and implement corrective actions
4. Inspire, supervise, train and develop 2 associate brand managers direct report.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Post Graduate Business Study (MBA) OR equivalent experience desired
- This WL2 role requires previous experience of working in global or regional BD teams and managing multi-functional, virtual project teams.
- Personal Care experience and specifically experience with dealing with the Male target. Thorough understanding of male segment & market (includes affinity to digital world by target audience)
- Experience in managing media channels (social, digital, mobile, etc .)
- Significant brand development & brand building experience is a must including brand equity and innovation management as well as developing & judging communication.
- Real consumer passion and entrepreneurial drive is required to drive the development into new markets.
- Business Maturity/ Experience - High visibility role
- Creative Thinking - demonstrated ability to think outside of the box
- Strategic influencing - ability to navigate complex organization between global brand teams
- Work well in uncertainty
- Excellent communication skills, including fluent English in written and spoken, and some experience/ passion working with other cultures.
- International experience / working with other cultures and able to build networks
