Title: Quality Manager
Position Summary:
The position manages the Quality Assurance Laboratory to ensure that incoming components, raw materials, bulk and finished product testing is performed to maintain optimal schedule adherence.
The incumbent is responsible for managing the QA function by providing the Plant with technical support to insure that systems, processes, components, and finished products comply with quality standards and customer service levels in alignment with regulatory agencies requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
· Provides QA technical support to all site departments including production, maintenance, facilities, and TIMQ as required to achieve business goals.
· Supervises the day-to-day activities of the QA technicians, inspectors and or lab employees to maximize resource effectiveness and utilization in compliance with SHE policies.
· Develops and implements validations, testing, inspection procedures and statistical analysis to incoming materials, in process and finished products to ensure product compliance with GMPs, food safety, and company specifications. Researches product defects recommending modifications in products or standards and prepares necessary reports and action plans.
· Implements and comply with TPM, RVS and QA framework initiatives to improve QA KPIs (non conformance, Zero defects, customer complaints, first time right, etc.) and customer service.
· Effectively manage the flawless execution of new product innovation as well as changes in existing products. Establishes monitors, validates and maintains procedures and systems (ie. HACCP) and signs off on trials and new innovations from a quality perspective to ensure compliance with UL and regulatory agencies QA standards. Supports external audits conducted by CFIA (Canada) and other regulators.
· Maintains effective communications and appropriate working relationships with internal and external customers such as Supply Chain Planning, Purchasing, Development, R&D and others as applicable.
· Shares information with superiors, colleagues, staff and subordinates and participates in the development of the annual site QA budget and controlling fixed and variable cost expenditures.
· Manages inventory of testing supplies and equipments.
· Member of plant leadership team, reporting directly to Plant Supply Leader.
· Provides coaching to QA and manufacturing teammates to proactively eliminate Quality issues by implementing JPM principles.
Skills & Competencies:
· -Education: BS in Chemistry, Micro-Biology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution (preferred)
· Masters Degree (preferred)
Experience:
· This position requires five or more years experience in supervising or managing the QA function.
· Must have experience in a leadership capacity and proven track record in managing, leading, motivating and creating a team environment.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
