POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pet Litter & Accessories division of Nestle Purina is the largest litter company globally and focused on continuing to expand our market leadership position through the development and commercialization of consumer-centric products that address real world pet ownership challenges. The Quality Assurance group is responsible for verifying product performance, test method development, vendor assurance, quality systems development, SPC and Nestle compliance standards to name a few. We also provide technical support for all of the mining and manufacturing operations associated with the litter business in the United States and Canada. We are seeking an Assistant Quality Assurance divisional manager to maintain and improve all aspects of quality in our processes and products by supporting all litter factories, manage process improvements, specifications, product performance and leveraging vendors to improve the quality of our products.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Problem solve and facilitate root cause to assist all factories in coming up with solutions when needed.
2. Coordinate and calibrate with PTC, Marketing, Technical Applications Group, Production Manufacturing, Production Engineering and production facilities to develop and continuously evaluate product quality, cost improvements for manufactured and packaged products.
3. Support training programs necessary to enhance product quality and performance at the manufacturing sites.
4. Coordinate and manage implementation of an ISO 9001 based quality standard (NQMS) requirements and associated corporate procedures across all litter plants.
5. Participate and sometimes lead internal and external factory audit programs to verify adherence to certification standards, quality policy and product process specifications.
6. Support startup of new lines, processes, product design and launch to assure the attributes expected can be delivered.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in product evaluations attended by PTC, Marketing, TAG, and Production Manufacturing for all manufactured products.
2. Maintain technical competence through membership in professional organizations and attendance at industry related conferences and seminars.
3. Evaluate customer feedback data to monitor market quality trends and manage any corrective actions needed for contract manufactured and packed products.

EDUCATION:
B.S. degree from an accredited institution

EXPERIENCE:
3+ years in a manufacturing environment

SKILLS:
Proficient in statistical methods and computer programs. Advanced communications and facilitation skills.
