Yoh has a direct hire opportunity for a Senior Operations Engineer to join our innovative (and quirky) mobile gaming client in Palo Alto, CA.
Job Overview:
The Senior Operations Engineer is responsible for keeping our client's games up and running as well as building out their server infrastructure to support future games.
What you'll do for the team:
- Manage our global, always-on, multi-game infrastructure
- Execute planned network maintenance work, minimizing impact on our live games.
Toys you bring to our playground:
- Experience running medium-large scale system in LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
- Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hour maintenance activities
- Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX internals and core system services (DNS, smtp, syslog, iptables, etc)
- Experience with open source monitoring and alerting systems (Nagios, cacti, etc…)
- Knowledgeable in configuring MySQL servers and running replication.
- Enthusiasm for start-up work
Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Knowledge:
- BA/BS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Experience with systems/configuration management (Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, etc.)
- Experience with network security- firewalls/ACLs, VPN services
- Experience with PHP, Perl, bash
- Experience with VMware or XEN based virtualization
