Job Overview:
The Senior Manager, User Experience is responsible for designing best-in-class customer experiences for Corbis brands. The role provides direction and day-to-day management of User Experience Designers and closely partners with the product and development teams to deliver innovative and differentiated products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop user interfaces that are clean, easy and intuitive, which incorporate the latest technologies, customer feedback, and UX best practices.
- Create a vision for the User Experience Design team and communicate goals, using coaching and mentoring skills to help broaden their skill set.
- Conduct Front End analysis, interviewing, focus groups, requirements gathering.
- Use storyboarding, user scenario development, high level use case definition, user and task analysis, to capture and develop user requirements and integrate elements into user interaction designs.
- Create, evaluate and modify high and low fidelity prototypes to support development process.
- Design and develop usability testing plans. Plan, coordinate and facilitate usability tests.
- Lead training classes on usability, interface design and information architecture.
- Promote user centered design principles throughout the organization.
- In conjunction with technical leadership, define design approaches and solutions, contribute to cost/benefits and risk analysis and presents finding / recommendations.
- Communicate effectively across the organization, from developer to executive.
- Create a culture supportive of individual contribution and teamwork.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree is preferred.
- Six to eight (6-8+) years of combined experience in visual design, information design, interactive design and production including knowledge of HTML5, AJAX, JSON and latest design / development trends for different devices; Minimum of two to four (2-4) years of proven experience as a lead.
- Passionate about designing clean, intuitive interfaces with knowledge of current best practices
- Ability to work both at a strategic and tactical level with a broad understanding of the business drivers for design deliverables.
- Proven ability to lead high performance teams.
- Applicants must have a strong portfolio that shows a variety of successful web/mobile application solutions, including visual and interactive design, concept development and communication.
- Portfolio and resume must include experience working on large, high traffic e-commerce sites.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and give and receive feedback in a constructive and collaborative way.
- Experience collaborating closely with usability and conducting iterative prototype testing is critical.
- Applicants must be flexible and able to adapt well to changing priorities in an exciting, fast-paced media company.
- Must be very organized and self-motivated and have the ability to manage projects on tight deadlines.
