Responsible for managing the delivery of information systems and/or technology services, which may include software, networks, databases, helpdesk, etc. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Plans, directs and controls resources and initiatives to accomplish the objectives of WellPoint and IT.
- Obtains, develops and oversees the use of necessary resources. Has fiscal responsibility and assists in budget development.
- Is responsible for management of processes and receives assignments in the form of objectives and framework on how to meet goals.
- Expected to identify and resolve anticipated hurdles for assigned area/group by referring to past practices.
- Typically this is the first management assignment, but may have prior Lead or Project Management experience.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
1. Lead management of IT Project Management Office Portfolio
a. The IT PMO is comprised of a number of associate and contract Project Managers
b. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining efficient and effective processes
c. Developing effective partnership with business and IT project sponsors
2. Lead management of IT Governance functions
a. Develop, maintain and support the Configuration Management functions for IT
b. Develop, maintain and support the Change Management functions for IT
c. Develop, maintain and support the Release Management functions for IT
d. Develop, maintain and support the Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model Integration standards for all of IT
3. Expected to manage, monitor, audit and otherwise enforce disciplined measurement of successful execution of Standard Operating Procedures
4. Coaching mentoring and developing highly motivated team of associates and contractors in delivering consistently successful results
Required credentials: BA degree, PMP certification, demonstrated ITIL experience (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Preferred: advanced degree or alternative experience, ITIL certifications and demonstrated experience managing large complex environments
