Question

I received an e-mail telling me my search agent had errors in it.

Answer

The most common problem which causes the automated search agent error messages is the Boolean Search box. Before attempting to use the Boolean Search, you must read the help file for it, located to the right side of the box. Quotes must be put around any search phrases in the boolean search.

For example:
"entry level" AND (web AND (designer OR programmer OR developer)) AND NOT "technical support".

You will notice that when 2 or more words are used for a keyword, quotes must be placed around them.

UPDATE:
As of 7/6/2004, a new keyword engine has been put into place. This is designed to more constructively interpret keyword searches, and limit the possibility of "syntax errors".
Also, any error in your search will no longer be emailed to you.
