Maryland was ranked third in the nation for clean energy jobs in the
second quarter of this year.

Environmental Entrepreneurs, a national group that promotes green energy through
businesses and jobs, ranked the state in its latest report.

Maryland was noted for a $2.6 billion, 20-station and 14-mile expansion of the
Baltimore light-rail system. The state-funded project is designed to reduce
carbon pollution and traffic and produce more than 42,000 construction jobs
through 2021.
